Ohio Chapionship Qualifier @ Epic Loot

Round one Shade v. Sevarious2
Scenario: Fire Support
This is a real grind. Errants and Zealots everywhere, plus three jacks, one is the Avatar. The Kraken goes to work by forcing Sevvy to stay back while the avatar tries to close in. I keep pressure on with the banes while looking for targets of opportunity with the kraken guns. My problem was that I deployed too far left. We were on a 6x4 board with no lines where the 4' line was. So I spent the game shifting my army right. Anyway, I was able to destroy an objective and dominate a flag for 3 points. I feated and flooded the area with banes. Sevvy counterfeats and kills almost all of them. He then moves several things in to contest the flag. I decide to go for the win and commit shade. He attacks everything he can reach to kill or make stationary. The Withershadow combine finishes the rest off. Shade wins 5-0.
Round 2 Skarre1 v. Stryker2
Scenario: Balance of Power
His list is full of Silverlines, Stormblades, rowdy, and some Storm guard solos. The kicker is that they can all see and move through each other. That was huge. I jam with raiders, he kills them. I feat and get two Soulhunters to Stryker and leave him at 6 life. Then it's a grind. Erebus and the wraith engine do some work and clear the zone for me to dominate. Wraith engine dies and he floods the zone with whatever he's got left. I kill everything but the damn squire. I just don't have anything left. Stryker velocities and kills Skarre. Tough loss, but a really good game.
Round 3. Shade v. Garryth
Scenario: Into the Breach
This is a really weird Garryth delivery army. But, it was effective. It used a lot of solos and all the cav solos to run along the extreme flanks of your army in an effort to assault you from the rear. And the cav models are fast enough to do it. They could also tie up and or destroy your support while Garryth, Eiryss, ghost snipers, Madelyn, And all the assassin solos are coming from the front. I got lucky round one with a fortuitous kraken shot that killed both Mage hunter assassins. So, as I was force to deal with the flankers and a Gorgon, the rest collapsed my right side. All banes in the right side unit were gone. The only saving grace was the standard bearer making like 5 tough rolls. This meant he didn't have enough to kill Tartarus. So I commit to the assassination run. I'm pretty sure I die next turn. Tartarus charges some stuff and curses Garryth. I puppet string the unit of banes and charge. Four get there. I need eights to hit. None do, but with puppet strings one does. I'm thinking no way does one bane kill a caster on full health. I roll the dice and get 5,5,5,5! Dead Garryth exactly!
Round 4 Skarre v. Hexeris2
Scenario: Close Quarters
Kind of an anti-climax to the day. I jam raiders turn one. He black spots and tries to kill. But they're on a giant hill and only kill a few. The titans kill a few more, but really just get bogged down. Soul hunters charge in to kill what they could on feat turn. Everything else just runs up ready to charge next turn. His army chokes on the soul hunters and raiders. He has to use too many resources to kill them. Six knights charge Hexy under Dark Guidance. Dead Hexy.
3-1 on the day was not bad at all. My strength of schedule wasn't so great, so I didn't make top three. But now that I've got these two lists I can play them more and get the practice I need with them.

Game 1: I drop Butcher3 vs Fiora1 and 70 temple flameguard with advanced move. Butcher does his thing on turn 3; killing a heavy, an objective, and 3-4 flameguard, then energizers to the flag to score 3 points in one turn. He can't get anything meaningful over there and I win next turn.
Highlight: killing 31 flameguard in one turn.
Game 2: I drop Butcher3 againt eVayle tier. This is the fabled B3 legion matchup that I have been dreaming about. Iron Fangs drop beasts left and right while Butcher stands just outside of the zone, daring him to put anything in it. My opponent scoops when all he has left is a Ravagore and a pot, vs most of my army.
Highlight: "Iron Fang Pikemen have what?"
Game 3: I drop Vlad3 against pHaley. I am past mid-field with most of my army before he gets to activate. He feats turn one and kills a handful of models, but the infantry clearing that I have in this list is to much. Drakhuns side-step/sprint into his long gunners and he can never put anything significant into the zone. Another scenario victory.
Highlight: Neither of Andrew's lists could handle either of mine IMO. The match went downhill for him quickly, but he still made it a fun game, so hats off to him.
Game 4: I drop Vlad3 against eFiora. Again I am across the board on turn one and loose a few horses. Then my alpha utterly bounces off of him and I am in trouble. Thankfully I am scoring points and have 3 before he can free himself up to contest. All the sudden I am down to Vlad, 3 Outriders, and a Drakhun. Vlad Goes man mode and charges half way across the board to clear out his flag and control it for my fourth point, and since he sent is last fully functional heavy to contest mine, he as to go for the assassination with Fiora. She comes up one point short, and instead of burning to death on my next turn I score my last control point at the end of his.
Highlight: The look on his face when Vlad charged 12", immune to free strikes, and killed 2 heavies.
I believe the standing were:
1st: Dan
2nd: Jeff (my final opponent)
3rd: ??? cryx
4th: Eric (khador)
